This is something for my young friend or even my old friend, who have their younger once at home.
violence : violence is when someone hurts you and makes you feel bad on purpose. It means hurting someone's body or even feelings. Even when someone says they will hurt you, accounts in violence. Violence is also when people hurt themselves on purpose.
Now we will talk, how many kinds of violence children face today.
1 :- physical punishment :
example,
hitting, throwing, kicking, choking, or shaking a child.
burning a child with a cigarette,
locking a child in dark or closet room, pulling a child's hair
2 :- Verbal abuse :- i think, this is something occurs everyday and most of the society doesn't find or feel anything wrong in it.
example,
yelling or shouting at child, calling a child stupid, ugly or any other bad names.
even saying to child that no one loves him, comes under verbal abuse.
3 :- NEGLECT :
yes, even neglecting a child is offensive.
example,
leaving a child alone for long time, not speaking with a child or answering his/her questions, not giving enough food to a child.
4 :- sexual abuse : widely experienced, hardly taken into account
example,
touching a child's private parts, making a child touch his/her private parts, having sex with a child, showing a child magazines or films which show pictures of people with little or no clothes.
telling a child "dirty" jokes or stories.
5 :- bullying :
example,
making fun of a child, chasing younger kids away from play areas, kicking, pinching and threatening another child or children.
6 :- violence against children get into troubled with the police and law (very important, specially in poor countries)
example,
in many countries, children are kept with grown-up prisoners who may physically, mentally or even sexually abuse them, sometimes children are beaten up by prison guards, they are even kept dirty prison, children in prison DON'T GET A CHANCE TO LEARN AND PLAY.

in some discussion, kiran bedi mam narrated an interesting incident:
during her famed posting at tihar jail, she noticed the plight of children who were born in jail and were living there with their mother since then.
these children had nowhere to go, so preferred to stay in jail with their mother. when kiran bedi took them out for a trip, the children, oblivious to outside world, had difficulty in even boarding bus....
unfortunately , this was not a rare case but such children can be seen in various jails ..
isn't this a torture on tiny gentle souls??
From todays E-Sakal paper only:
8 yr old kid from Gujarat suffering from AIDS, whose parents are died too because of some natural death and not bcuz of AIDS, its mystery that how did this Kid get infected to AIDS.
All the GAAVWALE and teachers treat this kid differently, teacher ask him to sit in the corner at school. Other parents dont let their childrens mix with this Kid.
He has a Grandappa, who is trying to give this kid some treatment and cure him.
The attitude of villageres and "EDUCATED TEACHERS" is shameful.

One more aspect that comes to mind is where parents, elders and teachers are involved. They “COMPARE” a child with other/s.
Traumatised children due to wars, riots, terrorists, extremists on massive scale have become a regular feature in many countries.
Child abuse incidents are extremely violent in slums..... the situation is worst for girls as they are sexually abused more often.
